The voices of survivors and advocates are vital to building a future in which we all thrive.
Elections
In addition to voting for the next President in November, we’ll vote on candidates for Congress. Some major cities in Virginia will also vote to fill seats in their local governments and school boards.
The people elected this year will make decisions that affect our lives every day for years to come, from affordability of healthcare and prescriptions to funding for victim services, abortion access, school and teacher funding, gun violence prevention, and a host of other important issues that affect our daily lives and work with survivors.

The November 2023 election is especially important in Virginia because every seat in the Virginia House of Delegates and Virginia Senate is up for election. These legislators will make decisions that affect our lives every day, from gun control to access to reproductive care, to childcare costs and living wages. We compiled these voting FAQs to assist advocates in ensuring that their voices as well as the voices of survivors are heard at the ballot box.
