DESCRIPTION:We’re thrilled that you’ve decided to join us for our annual Legislative Advocacy Day on Wednesday\, February 2nd\, 2022!  It’s always an amazing experience to see survivors\, advocates\, and movement partners roaming the (virtual and physical) halls of the General Assembly\, lifting the voices of survivors and advocating for policies that seek to respond to and prevent violence in our communities.   \nPolicy leaders want to hear from you\, the advocacy experts\, about how investments in primary prevention\, reducing workplace/sexual harassment\, and expanding best practices in trauma-informed and healing-centered responses to violence can save lives and help to create a Virginia where all families and individuals can fully thrive. Your voice as an advocacy expert is critical to ensuring that Virginia policy works for all survivors and all communities!  \nIf you plan to attend Legislative Advocacy Day in person\, we ask that you only do so if you are fully vaccinated + boostered and that you practice safe masking and distancing as able. If you can’t make it in-person for Legislative Advocacy Day\, don’t worry\, we’ll send you everything you need to participate in virtual legislative actions that are happening statewide! Just make sure you select “Virtual Legislative Advocacy ONLY” in your registration choice.  \nPlease note that scheduling visits with your legislators is done on your own and in advance! DESCRIPTION:The first of our 2022 State and Local Partners’ meetings! This invitation is open to advocates\, preventionists\, and other partners serving survivors and/or supporting community education on healthy relationships in Northern Virginia. We will continue to hold virtual gatherings until we can be together safely again. Distance will not stop us from holding space to share resources\, information\, advice\, concerns\, and/or successes! \nOur time together will include: \n\nWelcome & introductions\nDiscussion on regional issues\, service trends\, and resources\nAgency updates\nClosing\n\nIn addition to these regional events\, we’re holding two statewide gatherings that will include opportunities for professional development. We hope to see you and your community partners for the following events: \n\nApril 14\, Tidewater\nJune 9\, Statewide\nAugust 4\, Central VA\nOctober 6\, Southwest VA\nDecember 8\, Statewide\n\nWe hope you will be able to join us for one or more of our gatherings this year!
