DESCRIPTION:Want to learn more about PREA\, the Prison Rape Elimination Act\, and how it’s implemented in Virginia?  \nWant to learn more about working with incarcerated survivors\, both in juvenile facilities and adult facilities?  \nCan we expand our work to disrupt the trauma-to-prison pipeline?  \nPart 1\, October 27\, 2021\, 10am- noon \n\nPresenter: Nicole de la Torre \, Just Detention International (JDI). Nicole is a Program Director at JDI and provides training and technical assistance to corrections agencies and victim advocates on preventing and responding to sexual abuse in detention.\n\nPart 2\, November 3\, 2021\, 10am-noon \n\nPanel on supporting incarcerated survivors:\n\nSpeaker from the PREA Unit with the Virginia Department of Corrections\nStaff from the Crisis Response Team of the Action Alliance’s Statewide Hotline.\nOther presenters include people who have worked with incarcerated juveniles and adults.\n\n\n\nRegistration is available at bit.ly/preasummit  \nCost is discounted (free) for members of the Action Alliance\, for all others\, the cost is $25 for one session or $40 for both.
