The Action Alliance has a compelling vision for a world where relationships, families, and communities are healthy, equitable, nourishing, and joyful. Our government and systems are rooted in abundance, equity, and justice. And the decisions we make are grounded in whether they will benefit our descendants and sustain the Earth. We work alongside a broad network of sexual and domestic violence agencies, advocates, survivors, and state and national partners to bring Virginia closer to this vision…..
….But we can’t do it alone.
Discover ways to give below.
Your donation ensures that we have the resources to:
- Strengthen state laws that make survivors safer and communities more equitable.
- Respond to survivors in need via the Statewide Sexual and Domestic Violence Hotline.
- Train professionals to provide trauma-informed responses and to build healing-centered systems.
- Address the root causes of violence by creating campaigns, curricula, and tools designed to promote healthy relationships/joyful sexuality and prevent violence before it can happen.
Other Ways to Support the Action Alliance
The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) is the annual charity drive of the employees of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The CVC operates for and by state employees and provides ways to contribute directly to an approved charity and report donations to the campaign. If you are a Virginia state employee, please consider making a contribution to the Action Alliance through the CVC. Our CVC Code is 200055.
The Action Alliance’s CVC Charity Directory listing can be found here.
An employee giving program is a company initiative that encourages and supports employee charitable donations, often including financial contributions and volunteer opportunities. These programs can take various forms, such as payroll giving, matching gifts, volunteer grants, and paid time off for volunteering. The primary goal is to boost employee engagement, foster a sense of corporate social responsibility, and support the causes employees care about. If you give to the Action Alliance (or you’re thinking about giving to the Action Alliance), your company may match it and double your impact! Check with your manager or human resources department to see if your company will match contributions that you make.
The Peace Begins at Home license plate is Virginia’s only license plate to directly fund programs around the state that work to prevent sexual and intimate partner violence before it happens. Proceeds from the sale of each license plate (new or renewals) go to our Building Healthy Futures Fund. This fund was created to establish a statewide revenue source for local sexual and domestic violence agencies to implement evidence-informed prevention programming to disrupt the interpersonal and social conditions that give rise to sexual and intimate partner violence. For just $25.00 per year, you can be a part of the growing movement to end sexual and intimate partner violence statewide.
