At the Virginia Sexual & Domestic Violence Action Alliance, we partner with survivors, community members, and professionals to advance prevention, advocacy, and collective action across the Commonwealth. Together, we’re working toward a safer, more just Virginia where healthy relationships and thriving communities are possible.

What We Do

We support communities in transforming the root causes of sexual and domestic violence through education, primary prevention strategies, youth engagement, and statewide campaigns that center equity and healing. Our prevention work focuses on changing the conditions and cultural norms that allow violence to occur, not just responding after harm happens.

We advance survivor-centered policies at the local, state, and federal level that strengthen safety, justice, and opportunities for all Virginians. Our policy work reflects the expertise and leadership of survivors, advocates, and community partners.

We offer skill‑building trainings, technical assistance, and professional development for advocates, prevention specialists, healthcare providers, educators, and community leaders. These opportunities help individuals and organizations deepen their impact in violence response and prevention.

Through VAdata, we provide the most complete statewide data on sexual and domestic violence services in Virginia. This data supports programs, policymakers, and community leaders in understanding trends, improving services, and making informed decisions.
