It’s that time of year again! Join advocates and survivors across Virginia for the Action Alliance’s Act. Honor. Hope. Luncheon Celebration on Friday, December 4th, 2026, from 11:00 am-2:00 pm at the John Marshall Ballrooms located in the historic renovated Hotel John Marshall in Downtown Richmond.

Each year in December, the Action Alliance gathers our membership – made up of 70+ community-based sexual and domestic violence agencies (SDVAs), a statewide network of professional allies, and individual and lifetime contributors – to reflect on the past year of great organizing accomplishments, to show support for future bold visions, and to celebrate those who have been active in making the world a better place for ALL Virginians.

Meet This Year’s Honorees

This year, we’re celebrating four incredible honorees: two organizations and two individuals who’ve taken extraordinary action to defend democracy, empower survivors and their families, and pave pathways towards thriving and joyful futures for all Virginians.

Dawn Dalton (Executive Director), Micaela Demming (Policy Director), and the entire team in D.C. For their bold and decisive action to coordinate a multi-state litigation effort combatting attacks on federal grant programs for victim service providers.

Kathy Anderson (Executive Director) and the incredible team of advocates at Empowerhouse in Fredericksburg, VA. For their ongoing leadership elevating the needs of survivors in national and statewide policy, news and media, and connecting national litigation efforts to the lived experiences of survivors in Virginia communities.

Virginia State Senator Barbara Favola (40th District, Arlington Co.). For her ongoing and effective leadership to sponsor legislation, secure funding, and change systems on behalf of Virginia’s sexual and domestic violence advocates, survivors, and families.

Angela Blount, Associate Director Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance. For her powerful advocacy and generational impact on Virginia’s anti-violence movement – spanning multiple organizations, roles, and decades.

Ticket Options:

  • Individual Ticket: $80.00
  • Half Table, 4 Tickets: $280.00 ($70.00 per person)

We want every guest to be able to plan ahead with confidence, so here is what to expect at this venue.

The John Marshall Ballrooms are in a historic building, and step-free access to the ballroom level is by a single elevator. That elevator is reached via the side entrance in an alley rather than through the main lobby, and the route from the alley to the elevator passes by the building’s service and refuse area. It is a short walk, and Action Alliance staff will be stationed at the alley entrance beginning at 10:30 am to greet guests and guide you to the elevator.

If accessibility at this location is a barrier for you, please let us know. That feedback shapes where we hold this event in future years.
