We were thrilled to have survivors, advocates, and preventionists join us from across Virginia for virtual Legislative Advocacy Day on January 26-27, 2021.

In 2020, we successfully advocated for the passage of new protective order and firearms laws, housing protections for survivors, and the initiation of a first ever state sexual and domestic violence prevention fund. However, given the state’s emergency need to redirect funds to COVID-19 response efforts, final deposits were never made in our new prevention fund.

Now more than ever, as we have seen violence, evictions, and job insecurity on the rise for survivors, it is time for our policy leaders to invest in sexual and domestic violence prevention. Here’s “Why Virginia Should Fund Violence Prevention.”

Policy leaders want to hear from you about how our prevention efforts help to create a Virginia where ALL families and individuals can fully thrive!
