Legislative Advocacy Day

Advocates and survivors from across Virginia joined together for Legislative Advocacy Day on Thursday, February 2, 2023. This year, we had both in-person and virtual options. It’s always an amazing experience to see survivors, advocates, and allies roaming the halls of the General Assembly lifting the voices of survivors and advocating for policies that will help prevent violence and ensure conditions where every person has the opportunity to thrive.
Session isn’t over yet… Policy leaders want to hear from you about the need to fund the phones to sustain Virginia’s Statewide Hotline, ensuring the safe and lawful transfer of firearms for those subject to protective orders and convicted of domestic violence, repealing Virginia’s constitutional ban on LGBTQ marriage, expanding economic supports for women and families, defending Trans and LGBTQ youth in Virginia, protecting reproductive freedom and abortion access for all survivors, and many other issues important to advocates and survivors that help create a Virginia where all families and individuals are safe and cared for! Use the Virtual Advocate’s Toolkit below to take action.
