Paws for Prevention

Participate in the Action Alliance’s first ever virtual pet show and show your love for your favorite pet or working animal! Pets can provide all sorts of health benefits, including encouraging physical activity, reducing stress and anxiety, improving socialization, and increasing our general happiness. They also help teach empathy and compassion, supporting the development of healthy relationship skills. Animals of all kinds can also be working animals, some of which have been trained as therapy and/or emotional support animals for survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence. Proceeds from Paws for Prevention benefit the Action Alliance. Enter videos/photos of your pets in August. Voting runs September 5-21, 2022. Winners announced during virtual Yappy Hour on September 22, 4-5pm. Learn more.

Act Honor Hope
Every December, the Action Alliance honors leaders and community members who have taken extraordinary action to bring about the necessary change to end sexual and domestic violence. Their leadership offers hope for a better tomorrow.

Legislative Advocacy Day
Each winter, advocates from around the state gather in Richmond, VA to speak up for survivor rights and policies that support healthy and thriving communities. Each and every voice is important. We encourage you to join us in person or advocate by email, phone, and social media as we inform legislators on the issues that matter most to survivors and advocates statewide!
