On the 2024 Election

Two weeks ago, we learned the results of the 2024 election. Since then, like many of you, we have been doing the work to wrap our minds around what this means for the next four years of the anti-violence movement. The Action Alliance is a diverse group of individuals and organizations with the shared belief that ALL people have the right to a life free from violence. While we don’t presume to know how you feel about the election results, we do know that for many of us who identify as, and work in service of, BIPOC survivors, immigrant and non-English-speaking survivors, LGBTQ+ survivors, and survivors with disabilities, the outcome feels harmful and deeply personal.

Yes, there is fear right now. Yes, there is grief. And yes, there is incredible despair. But yes, there will also be bravery. Yes, there will be hope. And yes, there will be organizing.

We may not know exactly what the future holds, but we do know that ending violence is generational work, and we are called to work, right now, on behalf of those future generations. It will take all of us, together, working towards liberation and a shared vision where each of us can fully flourish. We are more determined than ever to work alongside you in service of this goal, and in service of sexual and domestic violence survivors everywhere.
