I am a friend, family member, or professional looking for resources.
Trained advocates are available to talk confidentially with anyone who wants support, no matter where you are in the process.
What can I expect?
Every situation is unique, and it can be difficult to talk about. Once you let us know it’s safe to talk, we’ll ask if you can tell us a little more about what’s going on. The choice of what and how much to share is up to you. People reach out at different times in their relationships, so advocates might ask questions about what options feel best for you. Together we can think through what’s most important and get you connected to resources that are the best fit.

The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) hotline is staffed by the statewide hotline. We provide emotional support, reporting services, and connections to advocates for hospital accompaniment. This is an option for adults in state facilities* who have or are experiencing sexual assault or sexual harassment while in the care of the Virginia Department of Corrections.
Are you a family member, friend, or loved one of someone who needs PREA help? Contact us.
